Our Staff

 

Lisa Ewers earned her Bachelor’s degree in music from Pfeiffer College. Since then, she has sung in the Chorale and served on the board.  Lisa also served as assistant director and interim artistic director for One Voice Chorus of Charlotte in the past. She is the Director of Music at Epworth UMC in Concord and previously directed music for New London UMC.  Additionally, Lisa plays in the Stanly County Concert Band and serves on its board, as well as volunteers with The Uwharrie Players theatre company.  For her dedication to the arts, Lisa was selected as Arts Person of the Year for 2024 by the Stanly County Arts Council.

 

Elizabeth Harrison received bachelor’s degrees from Duke University and Southern College, a Master of Music degree from New England Conservatory, and a Doctorate of Musical Arts degree from Stanford University. She recently retired from Pfeiffer University as Coordinator and Professor of Music. Dr. Harrison’s publications include several papers on early keyboard pedagogy and an article in the Revised New Grove Dictionary of Music and Musicians. She also has three commercial CDs: The Sweelinck School of German Organists (Raven label), Schnitger in Neidersachsen (with others, ORSEV label), and The Last Schnitger Organ (Raven).

Dr. Harrison is Director of Music at Christ Episcopal Church in Albemarle, where she resides with her two dachshunds and cat. She is excited to accompany the Chorale!
